A Beverly Hills Superior Court judge has issued an arrest warrant against Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan. The warrant is reportedly in connection with the rash driving arrest that was made back in 2007. The arrest took place after she crashed her Mercedes-Benz into a tree, according to police sources. Police officials also revealed that the warrant carries a bill amount of $50,000.
“We believe it has to do with her arrest for DUI,” is how police sources responded. They refused to give any further details about the warrant by saying that was all they knew about it.
Both Lohan’s publicist and her lawyer however did not respond immediately to phone calls and emails seeking clarification. None of the sources close to Lohan were available to comment.
The first arrest of the twenty-two-year-old star of the movie “Mean Girls” took place during the Memorial Day weekend in 2007. She was arrested again after the mother of her former personal assistant complained of being chased by an SUV. As Lohan was allegedly at the wheels of the vehicle, police arrested her in Santa Monica.
However, Lohan pleaded guilty to both her misdemeanour counts of driving under the influence of cocaine. For the charges of reckless driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent, Lohan had spent eighty four minutes in jail. She was also asked to perform community service and undergo drug-rehabilitation treatment.
However, the Beverly Hills court has scheduled a hearing for Lohan for 8:30 today morning. Police sources said they do not have any idea regarding what exactly the hearing was set for. They made it clear that the star was contacted directly by the court and not through them. “Apparently it has something to do with Ms. Lohan’s probation,” police sources said. “We don’t know exactly what it is about. The court contacted the defence directly, not us.”
