Causes of dizziness
Dizziness is a relatively common term that points to a wide variety of physical and emotional irregularities. Though most of us might have experienced it at some stage of our lives, it is hard to be described. The feeling of whirling or motion either of yourself or your surroundings is medically termed as vertigo.
It is similar to the feeling that you experience soon after getting off a merry-go-round. Any irregularity in the ear fluid level is found to be a major cause of vertigo. It might also lead to more severe disorder such as a tumour or stroke.
Some people feel dizzy and even faint at the mere sight of blood. Any happening that upset their emotional wellbeing make them dizzy. Other factors that often accompany dizziness include nausea or vomiting, confused thinking, general tiredness, fatigue etc. In some people one or other of these symptoms is seen, where as in some others all these symptoms are seen together.
Weaknesses after a flu or cold, seasickness or motion sickness etc are some reasons for a man to feel dizzy. Blood pressure variations form another reason. Extremely high blood pressure and extremely low pressure cause severe damage to the vital internal organs and make a person dizzy.
Blood pressure fluctuations can have multiple causes ranging from heart disorders to bleeding irregularities that cause anaemia. Irregularities in the rhythm of heart beat also make a person prone to dizziness. Aged heart muscles that find it hard to tolerate the severity of heart beat is yet another causative factor.
Strokes, tumours, headaches and migraines are the other possible brain related reasons for dizziness. A disruption in the pattern of blood supply to the brain makes a person lose his consciousness and fall dizzy.
Sudden emotional upsurge also lead to dizziness in some people. Increased loss of blood, especially after accidents, is yet another cause of dizziness. Some people develop dizziness as an after effect of certain medications.
