A recent Swiss study has revealed that eating dark chocolates slows down the thickening of arteries. Thus the blood flow through their arteries gets smoothened, thereby decreasing the risk of dangerous clots.
Dark chocolate is also found to reduce blood pressure by ten times. It also increases our body’s sensitivity to insulin. The stearic acid present in dark chocolate will see to it that the cholesterol level does not shoot up. The oxidation of the bad cholesterol, LDL, also gets slowed down as part of the chocolate effect.
Dark chocolate contains stearic acid, the type that does not raise cholesterol nor harm the blood vessels. It also slows down the oxidation of LDL or bad cholesterol.
Milk chocolates have the power to boost the functioning of the brain. Theobromine, phenethylamine and caffeine present in white chocolates increases alertness and attention. However, it should be kept in mind that chocolate eating will ultimately result in weight gain as it contains lots of sugar and fat.
