Chronic fatigue syndrome

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a complicated health problem that is featured by extreme fatigue which does not improve with bed rest and might worsen with any physical or mental activities. Chronic fatigue syndrome might occur after any infections including cold or viral illness. The onset could be during or shortly after a period of great distress, or chronic fatigue syndrome occur on gradually without any clear earliest symptom or obvious cause.

The women are diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome much more often as compared to the men are. Nevertheless, it is not clear whether chronic fatigue syndrome involves women more frequently or if females report it more often as compared to the men do. The treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome depends upon a combination of approaches that give relief from signs and symptoms. People with CFS have fatigue which lasts a long time. Symptoms might include headache, sore throat, tenderness or pain in areas in the neck or underarms, unexplained muscle discomfort, pain that travels from joint to joint with no swelling or redness.

Other chronic fatigue syndrome symptoms include loss of memory or concentration, insomnia (trouble in getting sleep) and severe tiredness after exercises that lasts more than 24 hr. These and other symptoms oftentimes will not go away or keep getting back for six months or more.

It is said that some behavior therapy and natural therapy play significant role in controlling the episodes.
