Herbal Aromatherapy

Herbal aromatherapy is the art of using herbs and oils to relax your body. They can help you be happier and healthier. Some very common aromatherapy products include essential oils, soaps, and candles.

The word aromatherapy comes from aroma meaning fragrance and therapy meaning treatment. In addition to allowing you to relax and eliminate stress, herbal aromatherapy is used to treat illnesses, asthma, insomnia, headaches, eczema, and menstrual issues. Research is currently being conducted to find out if aromatherapy is beneficial for those with Autism.

The idea of herbal aromatherapy is nothing new. It has been in use since the time of the Ancient Egyptians. They extracted oils from various plants. The Greeks used herbal aromatherapy for healing. The Romans gave it the name aromatherapy. The Chinese have used aromatherapy for healing and relaxing for centuries. Today herbal aromatherapy is used for sensual pleasure, relaxing, and rejuvenation. It is believed to help the blood circulate properly, increase the amount of oxygen in the blood, and enhance the immune system.

Herbal aromatherapy concept is also applied on Herbal candles? Heard of Soy right but maybe never heard of herbal candles. You do not know what you are missing here. You may know that traditional candles can contain lead, which is now known to be dangerous. Candles also burn oxygen so not recommended to use in airtight room. Herbal aromatherapy candles can change a mood in your home or office quick. They fill the room with wonderful scents and are enjoyable for everyone. Don’t you love it when people come into your home and say it smells great in here?

There are many different scents for different effects. Whether you are into meditation, relaxation, invigoration, stress reduction or just enjoying a wonderful scent, there is something for everyone. Herbal aromatherapy has been around for over 500 years and is still used around the world. There are thousands of products we use every day then go out and purchase more.

It’s been said that of the five senses, smell taps into one’s memory bank most significantly. It’s no wonder, then, that herbal aromatherapy is so often used as a natural method people seek when longing to relax.

Herbal aromatherapy is exactly what it sounds like—the process by which therapists use various natural aromas (plants and oils are frequently sources of these aromas) in the hopes of promoting balance and overall health to someone’s life.

The practice of aromatherapy has become commonplace among holistic healers today, but it has actually been around for thousands of years. It was used in ancient times by Chinese, Greek and Egyptian cultures. The Egyptian’s use of aromatherapy is similar to how it is used today, as they would extract essential oils from aromatic plants for medicinal and cosmetic purposes. Essential oils—found in all aromatic plants, such as lavender—are used in combination with other oils from aromatic plants to create the desired scent.

The term “aromatherapy” wasn’t coined until 1928 by Rene Maurice Gattefosse. Gattefosse was a French chemist who dedicated much of his life’s work to researching the healing processes of essential oils found in plants.

Naturally, aromatherapy does not necessarily have to be administered by a therapist, although that is one of the branches of aromatherapy (also known as clinical aromatherapy); the other two are aromachology (the study of how odors affect the mind) as well as home aromatherapy. The burning of aromatic candles or incense is a type of home aromatherapy.
