How to make the right sexual decision

The word ‘sex’ is one which has many different connotations. In general sense, it refers to vaginal intercourse. A person who is not exposed to sexual activity is called as virgin. Abstinence is the practice to which virgins stick to.

Whether to be involved in a sexual relationship or to keep away from it and maintain virgin hood is indeed an extremely personal choice.

You do not necessarily have to get sexually active just because “everybody else is doing it.” Teenagers are easily misled by their friends who might just be bragging to sound cool or to be more popular. It is always advisable not to be convinced by peer pressure regarding sexual matters.

It is you yourself who should decide what to do with your body and when exactly to do it. Always keep in mind that having sex just to get ‘fit in’ only invites more trouble.

It is always essential to be aware of the health hazards associated with having unsafe and unplanned sex. Some of such health risks include sexually transmitted infections such as herpes, chlamydia, genital warts, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV.

Many of these diseases are yet to have a reliable cure. Having sex before you are physically and mentally mature to have it also leads to many mental and cervical problems. Unneeded pregnancies that result from immature sex deals are sure to bring in more stress on the concerned partners.
If you are sure about your decision to have sex, it is always better to make it as safe as possible. However, the “safest” means is to keep away from sex. In order to protect yourself and your partner from the possible ailments, use latex condoms.

Condoms are found to provide maximum protection against the transmission of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies. However keep in mind that condoms will not provide protection if they are not used properly.
