Osteoarthritis – causes and symptoms

Osteoarthritis can be defined as a chronic condition caused by the deterioration of the joint cartilages and other joint cells with the formation of newer structure at the margins of the affected joint. It is generally associated with the aging process, but other causative factors might play a role in its occurring. Generally, the cause of osteoarthritis is not known. It is chiefly related to aging, but metabolism, genes, chemicals, and mechanical causes can also lead to osteoarthritis.

The symptoms of osteoarthritis generally appear in middle age and almost all has them when they are in sexagenarian phase. Before age 55, the condition happens equally in both the genders. Nevertheless, after 55 it is quite common in women. The condition causes the cushioning (cartilage) between the two joints to gnaw at significant level. As the disease turns worse, the cartilages disappear and the bone rubs on another bone and then, bony spur generally forms around the joint.

Causes of osteoarthritis:-

Osteoarthritis could be primary or secondary.
Primary OA happens without any kind of injuries or obvious causes.
Secondary OA is the condition came because of another disease or condition. The commonest causes of secondary osteoarthritis are:
• Inflammatory disorder like septic arthritis
• Any injuries
• Metabolic condition like acromegaly
• Any problem with anatomy (for instance, having bow-legged)

Symptoms of osteoarthritis:-

The warning signals include steady or intermittent pains those usually worsen with activities in a joint, stiffness soon after getting up from the bed, joint inflammation or tenderness in one or more joints and a crackling feeling or sound of bone that rubs on bone. Osteoarthritis occurs slowly and early in the condition, joints might pain after physical work or exercises. Osteoarthritis may occur to any joint, but mostly it attacks at the terminal parts of the finger or thumb, neck, lower back, knee and hip.

The treatment for osteoarthritis depends upon its degree of intensity. Generally products like Arthcare Capsules and Sallaki work well in combination that helps reducing pain and inflammation. Many natural healers suggest applying some local medicated oil such as Arthcare Oil onto the affected areas that help reducing pain naturally.
