Side effects of diet pills

Diet pills are those that claim to produce a reduction in body weight. Solidax ADX, Kava, Xenical, Meridia, Fat Absorber TDSL, Bontril etc are some of most popular brands.  Diet pills helps in lowering the body weight by suppressing appetite. The diet pills excite the body and make it reach a state of extreme stimulation. This state can be compared to your feeling when you suddenly find yourself before a running vehicle on a busy road. But, in a natural situation, the rush of adrenalin will suddenly subside. When you take the diet pills, the state of artificially created anxiety does not get lowered quickly.

The major side effects of some of the diet pills include extreme anxiety and nervousness, restlessness, insomnia, increased blood pressure, fatigue and hyperactivity, heart arrhythmias, palpitations, coronary dysfunction or heart attack, stroke, headaches, dry mouth, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. In some people chest pain, dizziness, disrupted menstrual cycle, lessened sexual urge, hair loss, fever, urinary infections, blurred vision etc are also seen as a consequence of taking diet pills. Over dosage of these pills result in tremors, psychological problems such as hallucinations, decreased rate of breathing etc.

Diet pills normally get prescribed when the person is morbidly obese. In such cases, experts advise to take diet pills since the consequence of increased obesity will cause greater harm than those attributed to the intake of diet pills. However, prescription from registered doctor is necessary for any sort of medication that involves diet pills.

It is always wise to consider diet pills as the last resort. They are to be relied upon only during medical emergencies. Because of the inherent high risk of diet pills, it is better to opt for safer and more effective substitutes.  A regularized weight loss program based on healthy and long-term dietary and routine changes is always the best way to reduce the body mass.
