PABA (Para-aminobenzoic acid) PABA helps the body generate important nutrients such as vitamin K, Folic Acid and Thiamine. PABA stimulates intestinal bacteria, enabling them to produce folic acid, assists in the formation of red blood cells which carry oxygen to sensitive brain tissue and to all parts of the body.

A deficiency of PABA may cause extreme fatigue, eczema, irritability, depression, nervousness, constipation, headaches, digestive disorders, and/or premature graying of the hair.

Magnesium — this is one of the important vitamins for neurotransmitter health and It is involved in the transmission of nervous system impulses and assists in the uptake of calcium and potassium. Magnesium concentration has an effect on serotonin receptors and a variety of other migraine related receptors and neurotransmitters. Magnesium also displaces toxic heavy metals from the body. It is used to convert carbohydrates, fats, and proteins into energy. There is a growing body of evidence that suggests that magnesium plays a pivotal role in the secondary injury process following CNS trauma, affecting a number of secondary injury factors including neurotransmitter release and activity, ion changes, oxidative stress, protein synthesis, and energy metabolism. Studies have shown that magnesium may be an effective therapy following neurotrauma, improving survival, motor outcome and alleviating cognitive deficits.

Selenium —Protects nerve receptors from oxidative damage.Selenium is synergistic with Vitamin E and the synthesis of amino acids in the brain, a building block to the development of serotonin. Selenium chelates heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, mercury and silver. Selenium is one of the vitamins for neurotransmitter health. It is important for the protection of heart cells and other cells against oxidative damage. Research indicates that selenium has the ability to bind methylmercury into a non-toxic form preventing neurotoxicity.

Vitamin E — A very potent antioxidant, protects nerve receptors from oxidative damage.. As an antioxidant, it protects the body from free radicals. Vitamin E chelates heavy metals such as mercury. It is important in protecting cell membranes from oxidative destruction. It is the king of cardiovascular nutrients.

Zinc — this is another one of the important vitamins for neurotransmitter health Protects nerve receptors from oxidative damage. Zinc chelates heavy metals such as cadmium and lead. Its deficiency is associated with hypercholesterolemia (increased fats in the blood). Zinc is present in more than 300 hormones and enzymes, which contribute to the human body’s life processes. No other metal is as important for these vital functions. These hormones and enzymes regulate wound healing, digestion, reproduction, sight, respiration, kidney function, sugar balance, taste and many other functions.

Calcium — Essential for healthy bones, CNS (Central Nervous System), muscle and cardiac function. Its deficiency is associated with hypertension and palpitations. Calcium has been known to displace toxic metals from the body. It replaces the calcium that is lost by chelating substances. Proper levels of calcium in the system are needed for the body to synthesize serotonin and the catecholamine neurotransmitters.

Calcium is used by the terminal end membranes of nerve fibers in the Hypothalamus of the brain. Calcium is required to initiate the stimulus for neurotransmitter release and hence it is one of the important vitamins for neurotransmitter health.
